چکیده
High spatial and thematic resolution of Land Use/Cover (LU/LC) maps are central for accurate watershed analyses, improved species, habitat distribution modeling as well ecosystem services assessment, robust assessments LU/LC changes, calculation indices. Downscaled Switzerland were obtained three time periods by blending two inputs: the Swiss topographic base map at a 1:25,000 scale national statistics from aerial photointerpretation on 100 m regular lattice points. The resulting was factor 16 to reach 25 m, while increased 29 (in map) 62 land use categories. method combines simple inverse distance weighting 36 nearest neighbors’ information an expert system correspondence between input categories possible output types. developed algorithm, written in Python, reads writes gridded layers more than 64 million pixels. Given size analyzed area, High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster used parallelize data analysis obtain results efficiently. presented this study is generalizable approach that can be downscale different types geographic information.

Land cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
متن کاملMonitoring urban land cover change: An expert system approach to land cover classification of semiarid to arid urban centers
The spatial and temporal distribution of land cover is a fundamental dataset for urban ecological research. An expert (or hypothesis testing) system has been used with Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) data to derive a land cover classification for the semiarid Phoenix metropolitan portion of the Central Arizona-Phoenix Long Term Ecological Research (CAP LTER) site. Expert systems allow for the inte...
متن کاملContinuous Monitoring of Nearest Neighbors on Land Surface
As geo-realistic rendering of land surfaces is becoming commonplace in geographical information systems (GIS), games and online Earth visualization platforms, a new type of k Nearest Neighbor (kNN) queries, “surface” k Nearest Neighbor (skNN) queries, has emerged and been investigated recently, which extends the traditional kNN queries to a constrained third dimension (i.e., land surface). All ...
متن کاملFinding Data Broadness Via Generalized Nearest Neighbors
A data object is broad if it is one of the k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) of many data objects. We introduce a new database primitive called Generalized Nearest Neighbor (GNN) to express data broadness. We also develop three strategies to answer GNN queries efficiently for large datasets of multidimensional objects. The R*-Tree based search algorithm generates candidate pages and ranks them based o...
متن کاملUrban Land Cover Classification Using Hyperspectral Data
Urban land cover classification using remote sensing data is quite challenging due to spectrally and spatially complex urban features. The present study describes the potential use of hyperspectral data for urban land cover classification and its comparison with multispectral data. EO-1 Hyperion data of October 05, 2012 covering parts of Bengaluru city was analyzed for land cover classification...
